I had the opportunity to have a conversation and fun singalong on KPFA-Berkeley’s “Living Room” program with Kris Welch and Country Joe McDonald, as a promo piece for the Berkeley Protest Festival. Our segment begins at 27:47 if you don’t have time to listen to the whole broadcast, but I hope you do. (Here’s a link to the segment on KPFA.org.)
I was lucky to have an experienced taper in my entourage for my Arizona mini-tour, so thanks to Chris San Clemente, you can listen to my shows even if you weren’t able to be there. Check ’em out:
May 1 – Flagstaff, Historic Brewing Co (set 1, set 2, encore)
May 2 – Phoenix, Fiddler’s Dream Coffeehouse (full set)
May 3 – Phoenix, Cactus Jack’s (set 1, set 2)
Hot off the presses! You can order it right here, along with the accompanying coloring book.
While I was in town on tour, N.A. Poe and his fine friends at Scrapple TV invited me to help them cover the Philly Naked Bike Ride. I slightly altered my song “Naked Camping” for the occasion. Check it out here! (About as NSFW as it gets.)
Check it out – my song “In Your Mind” is included on this new compilation by Wake Magazine! You can stream it free here: http://wakezine.bandcamp.com/album/return-home-vol-i
I did an interview with Kate Raphael on her show Women’s Magazine on KPFA – we talked about my music, the Global Try Not To Be A Dick Movement, and the importance of looking on the funny side of life. I played a couple-few songs, too – one is “Talking National Park Service Beat My Ass Black & Blues,” which I wrote about my arrest in Philadelphia last summer. I’m on the second segment of the show, after a moving interview with Col. Ann Wright, a former Army colonel-turned-activist who resigned her commission in protest of the Iraq war.
